Saudi Space Agency and Ministry of Education Launch Nationwide Space Awareness Drive

The Saudi Space Agency (SSA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, has initiated a nationwide space science awareness campaign. Timed ahead of World Space Week, the joint initiative focuses on expanding public access to scientific content, enhancing STEM literacy, and cultivating early interest in space technology among future generations. The initiative brings together academic programs, digital portals, interactive public exhibits, and community partnerships to engage audiences across multiple channels.

Core Initiatives & Educational Outlets

Through school and university integration, the Ministry of Education is rolling out dedicated educational tracks across primary and secondary schools. The curriculum provides students and teachers with curated space science modules, hands-on learning activities, and career guidance designed to identify and support early talent in scientific fields. Higher education institutions across the Kingdom are concurrently hosting specialized seminars, workshops, and lectures.

As part of the campaign’s digital track, the SSA has launched an updated version of its online portal, the Space Knowledge Gateway. The refreshed platform offers interactive educational games, a downloadable library of classroom booklets and presentations, video resources, and a comprehensive Space Encyclopedia for independent study.

To encourage direct public participation, the SSA is hosting an interactive awareness pavilion at the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) in Riyadh. The exhibit features hands-on space science demonstrations, interactive simulations, and family-oriented educational activities. In tandem with World Space Week events, the SSA is also introducing a pilot rollout of its official Space Store through the Jahez delivery app, offering space-themed merchandise and educational materials directly to the public.

Strategic Impact

Supported by non-profit organizations and broader national frameworks—including the Saudi National Space Strategy—the campaign aims to build on the Kingdom’s growing emphasis on space education. By combining formal classroom instruction with accessible community initiatives, the SSA and the Ministry of Education seek to foster a sustainable talent pipeline for Saudi Arabia’s expanding space and technology sectors.
