On 4 December 2025, Advanced Rocket Technologies (ART) marked an important milestone for Oman’s emerging space sector with the launch of Race 2 Space Oman at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU). The event brought together students, academics, government representatives, and industry experts, all united by a growing national interest in space and rocketry.

The initiative, developed in collaboration with the UK-based Race 2 Space programme, Oman’s National Space Program, and Etlaq Spaceport, was designed to introduce hands-on rocketry to the country’s universities and inspire the next generation of Omani engineers. Rather than a one-off workshop, it laid the foundation for long-term training, student rocketry teams, and future testing and launch opportunities within Oman.
During the workshop, participants learned about rocket propulsion, additive manufacturing, and the practical steps involved in designing and building rockets. Speakers from SQU, the National Space Program, Etlaq Spaceport, and ART highlighted Oman’s ambition to cultivate its own talent and develop real rocketry capabilities domestically.
The event not only expanded awareness of Oman’s space potential but also showed students that building and launching rockets was no longer a distant idea—it was becoming a real opportunity. With Race 2 Space Oman now initiated, the country took a meaningful step toward establishing itself as a regional hub for rocketry and space-system development.
